While renovating the resort's Hillside Pool Villas, Oceanview Hillside Pool Villas and Two-Bedroom Oceanview Hillside Pool Villas, the S Hotels & Resorts in-house design team preserved the original villa structures, maintaining their coveted hillside setting amidst lush tropical rainforest. The interiors, meanwhile, have been comprehensively refreshed, while ensuring that returning guests will find much of what made these retreats so special remains unchanged: uninterrupted ocean views, exceptional privacy and full-sized swimming pools designed for carefree days in the Andaman sun.

Crafted by nature

Throughout the villas, a discerning eye will notice design details that celebrate the maritime heritage and traditional craftsmanship of southern Thailand. A bespoke minibar installation inspired by marine mooring buoys references the conservation-friendly systems used to protect fragile coral reefs from anchor damage.

In the bathrooms, sculptural rope-inspired lighting draws on traditional maritime forms, while handwoven krajood headboards introduce a centuries-old southern Thai weaving technique into the contemporary interiors.

Sustainability plays an equally important role in the redesign. Private terraces have been finished with Dasso bamboo decking, crafted from rapidly renewable Moso bamboo and offering the durability of hardwood with a significantly lower environmental footprint. Elsewhere, strategically positioned skylights flood the bathrooms with natural daylight, reducing reliance on artificial lighting while strengthening the connection between indoor spaces and the surrounding tropical environment.
