The COVID-19 pandemic has caused difficulties and hardship for all of us. We do hope you and your loved ones have been safe and our thoughts go out to all affected people. We would like to update you on the various initiatives we have developed related to COVID-19 ranging from our hygiene measures to our community-based activities and flexible booking programme that is now being offered to all new reservations so that you can plan your next stress-free holidays. With this program, all our brands will be able to offer the “Stay & Se(a)” travel experience that comprises our S Signature.
During this trying time, it has been very important for our hotels and our resorts not to stop implementing their sustainable activities and to keep supporting their local communities. Here are a few examples of initiatives that have taken place in the last few months.
In Thailand, we donated essential supplies and a drinking water-cooling system to neighbouring villages as well as personal protective equipment to a newly established field hospital. We have also initiated a sustainability project in collaboration with school and volunteered to clean vacant block of land. In the Maldives, we sent medical staff, facial masks and electric vehicles to help the local authorities fight the pandemic. In the United Kingdom, some of our hotels have continued their operations to host personnel from essential sectors.
On top of these initiatives, our properties have been more active on their social media platforms to include fun and aspirational activities and to bring a little happiness to people while they are at home. For instance, a virtual reality resort tour and DIY videos were launched for the great joy of internet users.
We have stepped up precautionary measures at all our hotels and resorts globally. We believe in the utmost importance of the safety of our guests and employees and have enhanced our hygiene standards to be in line with the World Health Organization and local health authorities. In Thailand for instance, SAii Phi Phi Island Village, SAii Laguna Phuket and Santiburi Koh Samui are already certificated by the Department of Health, Thailand Ministry of Public Health.
Our key measures include rigorous cleaning and sanitization procedures of guest rooms. We focus especially on frequent high-contact points such as elevator buttons, door handles, reception counters, bathrooms, and conference rooms. Hand sanitizers are now placed throughout our hotels from guest contact areas to hotel lobbies and conference space. Infrared thermometers, medical masks, and gloves are also available at front desks for our guests and employees upon request. All new social distancing standards are now effective in every facility. *COVID-19 Important Notice when travelling to Maldives
As a proactive Covid-19 prevention measure, random sampling and testing of passengers at the airport will be conducted by HPA.
Guests who have travelled to/been in India within the past 14 days are required to conduct a PCR test upon arrival to the resort (USD 120 per test) and remain in quarantine in their villa/room till a negative result is received (usually within 24 hours). For more information, please contact our reservation team.
We are currently unable to accept guests residing or traveling from Male, Hulhumale, local islands, and safaris.
One week prior to arrival, guests are required to check with the reservations team if the other resort is eligible for a split stay.
