Water is one of the most important resources we manage. Many of our hotels are located near coastlines, rivers, and local communities that rely on healthy water systems, making responsible water management essential to both our operations and the surrounding environment.
We are committed to using water responsibly by carefully managing how water is sourced, consumed, treated, and returned to nature. To support this, we have developed water strategies, policies, and operational guidelines across our portfolio. These are tailored to local conditions, designed to maximise water efficiency, and aimed at reducing water scarcity risks for both our hotels and the communities around them.

Effective water management helps ensure our hotels can operate smoothly all year round without disruption. It also supports the conservation and restoration of shared water resources, strengthening relationships with local communities and contributing to long-term sustainability.
As part of the Boon Rawd Brewery Group, we also have opportunities to collaborate on environmental initiatives and develop impactful water stewardship projects together.
At the same time, water-related risks remain significant. Water shortages, particularly during dry seasons or in areas with limited resources, can impact hotel operations and guest experience. In addition, inadequate wastewater management may harm the environment, affect surrounding communities, and damage trust and reputation.
We take a location-specific approach to water management — because the right solution in the Maldives looks different from the right solution in Phuket or Koh Samui. Across all properties, we focus on reducing consumption, maximising reuse, and protecting water quality.
Daily water monitoring is conducted to ensure efficient water usage and to quickly identify any irregularities or potential leaks. Water storage infrastructure is continuously improved to reduce water loss from leakage and evaporation, while related equipment and systems are regularly inspected and maintained according to a long-term preventive maintenance plan to ensure reliability, efficiency, and uninterrupted operations.
Low-flow sanitary ware and sensor-activated faucets are installed across our hotels to cut unnecessary usage. Air conditioning condensate — water that would otherwise go to waste — is reused for foot washing at room entrances, squeezing more value out of every drop.
Through our Green Button project, we invite guests to actively participate in conservation — with in-room signage encouraging the reuse of bed linens and towels, reducing the volume of laundry and the water it takes to run it.
All self-managed hotels have wastewater treatment systems that allow treated water to be reused for gardening and non-potable activities. Treated water quality is monitored regularly to ensure it meets safety and environmental standards.
In 2025, we invested approximately THB 25 million in a water management improvement project at SAii Phi Phi Island Village — enhancing water security and operational resilience through a technical study carried out in consultation with water management experts.
We assess water-related risks using internationally recognised tools, including the World Resources Institute’s Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas, to better understand both country-level and site-specific water stress conditions.
Our assessment indicates that SAii Koh Samui Villas and Santiburi Koh Samui are located in areas classified as having high water stress, while SAii Laguna Phuket and SAii Phi Phi Island Village are located in lower-risk areas according to the assessment.
However, despite its formal classification, SAii Phi Phi Island Village regularly experiences water shortages during the dry season. As a result, we proactively manage the property as a water-stressed location to strengthen operational resilience and support responsible water management.
To strengthen water stewardship, the Company has invested in expanding its on-site water storage capacity at its Samui and Phi Phi Island properties to secure sufficient water for operations during periods of water scarcity, thereby reducing pressure on community water resources. The Company also supports local infrastructure development by providing land for the Wastewater Management Authority to establish a wastewater treatment facility, helping enhance wastewater management and protect the surrounding environment at SAii Phi Phi Island Village.
