SHR recognizes the challenges posed by climate change that may impact the tourism industry in the long term. Therefore, we are committed to managing energy, water, and waste resources efficiently, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing business sustainability through clear targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress. We also strive to adapt promptly to changes, building confidence and meeting the expectations of travelers who prioritize sustainable tourism.
SHR has opportunities to utilize renewable energy to reduce both costs and greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in remote areas. Efficient energy management can also attract environmentally conscious tourists and investors. The use of smart technologies and exploration of decarbonization pathways can further enhance the company’s carbon reduction efforts.
However, poor energy management poses risks to achieving greenhouse gas reduction targets and may negatively impact the company’s reputation. In addition, energy price volatility and regulatory uncertainty could increase operational costs.
