Job Description:

Position Purpose

The Spa Manager is responsible for the overall management of the spa, including staff supervision, client service, inventory control, and financial performance. The role involves creating a welcoming atmosphere, maintaining high standards of service, and ensuring the smooth operation of the spa.

General

To support Spa team and the Hotel in developing and maintaining the high standard of services in all aspects of the operation. The general responsibilities include being responsible and reporting all Spa employee activities relating to working schedule & leave balances, implementing in-house training program, providing exceptional customer service while performing quality massage therapies and body treatments as well as maintaining store compensation

Responsibilities

Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise spa staff, including therapists, receptionists, and support personnel.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for peak times.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment.

Client Service

  • Ensure that all guests receive exceptional service and address any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee appointment scheduling, client consultations, and follow-up communications.

Operations Management

  • Manage daily spa operations, including opening and closing procedures, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee inventory control, including ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment.
  • Implement and enforce spa policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency.

Financial Management

  • Prepare and manage the spa budget, including monitoring expenses and revenue.
  • Develop and execute promotional strategies to attract and retain clients.
  • Track financial performance, prepare reports, and make recommendations for improvements.

Marketing and Promotion

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase spa visibility and attract new clients.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and manage social media presence.
  • Plan and execute special events, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.

Training and Quality Control

  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of spa services and facilities to ensure they meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Prepare monthly training plan and execute spa treatment training refreshers and standards consistently.
  • Conduct regular inspections of spa equipment and facilities, addressing maintenance needs as required.

Customer Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Address guest feedback and make improvements based on their suggestions and concerns.

Compliance

  • Ensure that the spa complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records related to employee certifications, client data, and financial transactions.

Occupational Health and Safety

  1. Identify and control all aspects of risk management and implement strategies to minimize incidents and accidents.
  2. Monitor, evaluate and implement strategies to ensure manual handling techniques are undertaken by all employees.
  3. Review and update all necessary protective clothing, equipment and utensils to ensure the department is operating with minimal risks.
  4. Monitor and assist in the review of all workplace incidents and accidents.
  5. Assist in the implementation of return-to-work plans for injured workers.
  6. Ensure all employees work under the strict guidance of the OH&S Act and identify training needs.
  7. Ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained in a way that reduces risks or harm to anyone.
  8. Always use safe manual handling techniques.
  9. Review employees’ knowledge on emergency procedures including evacuation and implement training and development on a regular basis.

Note

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Santiburi Koh Samui from time to time, is essential to successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Santiburi Koh Samui rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subjected to disciplinary action including termination of employment.

Qualification Standards

Education 4-year college degree preferred.

Specific education in massage, skin care or salon services is preferred

Experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a customer service position and Spa background
  • Spa Manager Certificate from Public Health
