Cluster Director of Business Development

Job Description:
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Vice President – Global Commerce has the primary responsibility to sell and promote the Thailand managed properties (SAii Laguna Phuket, SAii Phi Phi Island Village, SAii Koh Samui Villas, Santiburi Koh Samui) to the international Leisure and MICE segments, to optimize opportunities through proactive planning and execution of sales plans and strategies which ultimately stimulate demand for room nights, drive incremental revenues by managing the Sales Organization and stimulate product demand and target market share for brands/hotels.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sales & Business Development
- Develop, implement, and monitor sales strategies to optimize business opportunities across all assigned properties.
- Proactively identify, penetrate, and grow business from target source markets and key feeder regions.
- Drive demand and incremental revenue across both Leisure and MICE segments.
- Ensure alignment with brand positioning and overall commercial objectives.
- Design the strategic outlines of a monthly sales activity plan
Accounts & Market Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key travel trade, corporate, MICE planners, and industry partners.
- Represent SHR Thailand properties at trade shows, roadshows, sales missions, and client events.
- Oversee account management activities to ensure retention, growth, and new business acquisition.
Team Leadership & Sales Organization Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the Thailand Sales team to achieve revenue targets and maintain high productivity.
- Establish clear KPIs, monitor performance, and ensure the team’s effectiveness in market coverage.
- Foster collaboration across sales, marketing, and revenue management functions to maximize results.
Planning & Reporting
- Prepare annual business plans, monthly sales strategies, and activity calendars for the Thailand cluster.
- Provide regular performance reports, market intelligence, and competitor benchmarking.
- Monitor trends, risks, and opportunities, adapting strategies as necessary to remain competitive.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality, or related field
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive sales leadership experience in international hotel groups, with exposure to both Leisure and MICE segments.
- Strong network of international travel trade, corporate, and MICE contacts.
- Proven ability to lead multi-property or cluster commercial operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and planning capabilities.
- Fluent in Thai and English; additional languages are an advantage.
