Vice President of Revenue Strategy & Distribution

Job Description:
The Vice President of Revenue Strategy & Distribution is responsible for implementing hotel revenue management objectives, which encompass maximizing revenues and profit through rate and inventory management of all market segments for Benchmark, a global hospitality company.
The Vice President of Revenue Strategy & Distribution will take an active role and oversite of corporate leadership team to support each hotel’s pricing and distribution of inventory across various channels of distribution to maximize revenues.
The Vice President of Revenue Strategy & Distribution requires to encompass the complete SHR current portfolio and acquiring properties, however subject to various levels of “management agreements” the involvement and scope my vary.
The position supports a corporate leadership and property team with their property in meetings, analyzing trends in group and transient segments, exceeding budged occupancy, ADR and revenue goals and setting group ceilings, target rates in conjunction with the sales and catering team.
The Vice President of Revenue Strategy & Distribution will be responsible for managing and maintaining controls including daily review, implementation of rooms and rate inventory controls for our portfolio of hotels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Optimize RevPAR by analyzing/forecasting demand and establishing effective selling strategies, oversell strategies, optimal and seasonal market mix across group, transient and wholesale segments.
- Work with the corporate leadership in recommending and implementing innovative and effective Revenue Management programs for the brand and properties.
- Conduct ongoing competitor price/product analyses to ensure proper rate positioning/product offering.
- Work with team on pricing decisions for transient, group and wholesale segments.
- Work with team to ensure ongoing training to improve performance and drive retention,
- Act as a liaison with electronic distribution channels and OTAs to maximize property exposure and bookings.
- Provide a monthly analysis to management complete with view on future performance across all market segments to include rate, occupancy and RevPAR.
- Develop selling strategies across all available distribution channels/reservation sources (PMS, third-party reservations providers, call centers, websites, OTAs, GDS, etc.)
- Continually monitor all pertinent travel-related websites to ensure competitiveness in positioning, content, availability and price.
- Maximize revenues by monitoring transient and group production, ensuring that an optimal guest mix is maintained.
- Critically analyze the impact of the revenue management strategies implemented by the brand and properties.
- Compile data, analyze trends, and develop accurate weekly and monthly forecasts.
- Update and maintain all revenue management tools.
- Work effectively with people, creating teamwork, taking charge, generating enthusiasm, motivating and using an uplifting and lead-by-example leadership approach consistent with company’s culture.
- Prepares pro-forma revenue and rate proposals for acquiring projects
- Actively involves in system setups and revenue strategies for prospect & current hotels
- Manages, evaluates and introduces systems related to POS, revenue management, OTA optimization etc.
- Closely works with the Head of Sales to evaluate and check balance rate directions.
- Partners and evaluates with hotel management companies and assets in association with with SHR hotels.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Finance, Economics or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in hospitality revenue management, commercial strategy, or distribution, including senior leadership responsibilities.
- Minimum 7years of experience leading Revenue Management functions across multiple properties, clusters, regions or brands.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, market share performance, and profitability through effective pricing, inventory, segmentation, and distribution strategies.
- Strong understanding of hotel distribution channels, including Brand.com, OTAs, GDS, wholesalers, direct channels, and emerging digital platforms.
- Extensive experience with revenue management systems (RMS), channel management platforms, business intelligence tools, and hotel PMS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable commercial strategies.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to evaluate revenue performance, forecasting accuracy, profitability, and return on investment.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives, property leaders, and commercial teams.
- Strong project management and change management capabilities, with experience leading commercial transformation initiatives across multiple properties.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer or senior management from time to time, consistent with the scope, level, and objectives of the position
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations to high-level business leaders.
